The Beldam, unaware of Coraline's trickery, gloats and tells her that she would have to live in her universe forever. Upon spotting her parents, who are almost frozen to death in a snow globe, Coraline tricks the Beldam into opening the door to the real world, by claiming that her parents are behind the door. However, one of the ghosts tell Coraline, via the marble, that the Beldam would reject her victory regardless. In the living room, Coraline announces her victory to the Beldam, who had transformed into her true demonic arachnid self. The parallel universe then turns into grey stone and distintegrates, leaving only the living room. Coraline also discovers that the Beldam murdered the Other Wybie before the game, due to his sympathy for Coraline. The Beldam agrees and Coraline succeeds, despite being almost killed by most of the button-eyed doppelgängers, who are revealed to be the Beldam's demonic minions.
